Vision Statement Analyzer
Does your vision statement give your brand a destination...
or does it just sound like one?
A vision statement is not a tagline, and it's not a mission statement either.
It is a declaration of where your business is going, a future state that is specific enough to anchor your strategy, ambitious enough to inspire your team, and clear enough that anyone who reads it understands exactly what success looks like for your brand.
The ULGM Vision Statement Analyzer scores your statement against the 7 W's Framework, the same step-by-step method taught inside the Ultimate Lead Generation Mastery program. You'll discover whether your statement covers the right elements, whether its length is helping or hurting its effectiveness, and whether it has the future-focused, inspiring qualities that make a vision statement worth having.
You get three attempts per session. No suggestions are provided because building a vision statement that is genuinely yours requires thinking, not templates. The framework shows you what is missing. The vision is yours.

What Is a Vision Statement?
A vision statement describes where your business is going, the future state you are working toward, expressed in a single clear sentence. It is future-tense, aspirational, and directional. It answers the question:
"What will this organization look like at its best?"
Unlike a mission statement, which describes what you do today, a vision statement describes what you are building toward.
A strong vision statement gives your team something to rally behind, tells potential partners and customers what you are committed to becoming, and gives your brand a destination that is bigger than any single product or service.
Inside the ULGM program, your vision statement is one of six brand messaging deliverables you build alongside your Mission Statement, Unique Value Proposition, Marketing Pitch, Tagline, and Slogan.
It is the first deliverable because everything else flows from knowing where you are going.
How the 7 W's Framework Scores Your Vision Statement
This Vision Statement Analyzer is based on my premier course, Ultimate Lead Generation Mastery (U.L.G.M.) This analyzer scores your statement across three components using the ULGM's 7 W's Framework, a structured approach that ensures your vision statement covers the essential ground without losing clarity or impact.
Component 1, 7 W's Coverage (50 points plus 5-point bonus)
This component checks four required elements:
Who2 (your target audience)
What (your business category or role)
Why (your purpose or impact)
How (what makes you distinctive)
Two optional elements add points:
When (a specific timeframe)
Where (your territory or market)
A 5-point bonus is awarded when your business name appears in the statement.
Each element carries specific point values reflecting its importance to a complete vision statement.
Component 2, Word Efficiency (25 points)
A vision statement that cannot be remembered cannot inspire.
This component rewards statements in the 20 to 30 word range, complete enough to be meaningful while remaining easy to remember.
The elite range is 20 to 24 words.
Statements longer than 55 words receive zero points for this component because they have crossed from vision statement into vision paragraph.
Component 3, Vision Quality (20 points)
This component measures whether your statement truly functions as a vision statement.
It evaluates whether your language is future-focused, inspiring, and clear, and how many of the themes you intentionally selected are actually reflected in your writing.
The theme score is the only portion of the analyzer where your conscious writing choices directly influence your score.
Frequently Asked Questions
A vision statement is future-focused. It describes where your business is going and what it will look like at its best.
A mission statement is present-focused. It describes what you do today, who you serve, and why it matters.
Your vision is the destination.
Your mission is the engine that gets you there.
Both are scored separately in the ULGM analyzer series because they serve completely different strategic roles.
A timeframe turns a wish into a commitment.
"We will be the leading resource for small business owners" is inspirational but unbounded.
"By 2028, we will be the leading resource for small business owners" creates accountability.
Timeframes also make your vision measurable, allowing you to revisit it, track progress, and eventually celebrate achieving it.
Component 3 measures qualities that simple element detection cannot.
It evaluates whether your statement feels future-focused and inspiring rather than merely descriptive.
The most common reason for a high Component 1 score and a low Component 3 score is writing in the present tense instead of the future tense.
Theme Analysis serves as a coaching layer.
It compares the themes you intended to include with the themes the analyzer actually detected.
Confirmed themes contribute to your Component 3 score.
Claimed-only themes suggest your wording may not clearly communicate your intended ideas.
Detected-only themes reveal concepts you may have expressed unintentionally.
No. However, including it earns a 5-point bonus.
For newer businesses, naming yourself demonstrates ownership and signals that this is your organization's specific commitment rather than a generic statement.
As your brand becomes more recognizable, including your name becomes less important.
100-105 points, Elite
Your vision statement is complete, clear, and compelling.
80-99 points, Vision-Ready
Your statement includes the essential elements and is ready to represent your brand.
75-79 points, Strong Draft
You're only one focused revision away from being ready.
Below 75 points
Your statement needs revision, which is completely normal.
Most business owners are new to the ULGM Framework, and building a strong vision statement takes practice.
